The Executive Order for 2022 pay schedules has been published by the Office of Personnel Management and is available on their website. NIH has also released a corresponding Notice regarding the updated salary cap along with examples on how to apply it: NOT-OD-22-076.
The NIH salary cap, which is based on the Executive Level II salary level, has been increased from $199,300 to $203,700, effective immediately. Any new funding proposals created with NIH as the sponsor should use the new salary cap of $203,700, as applicable. Additionally, existing awards may be re-budgeted to accommodate the new salary cap. AURA Grants will be updated to reflect this new salary limitation.
