URA's Conflict of Interest (COI) Team is dedicated to ensuring that potential conflicts of interest in research are identified, disclosed, and managed appropriately. This team is responsible for reviewing disclosures of financial and other interests that might influence or appear to influence research activities. The COI Team works to maintain the integrity of the research process by safeguarding against bias and improper influence resulting from personal or financial interests.
They provide guidance to researchers and administrators on conflict of interest policies and procedures, assist in the preparation and submission of disclosure forms, and review and assess potential conflicts. The COI Team develops management plans to address identified conflicts and monitors compliance with these plans. Their mission is to support transparency and maintain public trust in the research conducted at UChicago by ensuring that all research is conducted free from undue influence.
