NSF-Approved Formats for the Biosketch and Current & Pending Support

Effective October 5, 2020, NSF will begin enforcing the NSF PAPPG 20-1 requirement to use NSF-approved formats for the Biosketch and Current & Pending Support documents. Proposals due on or after October 5 must meet this requirement by ensuring that the Biosketch and Current & Pending Support documents are created using either SciENcv or the NSF fillable PDF templates (Biosketch and Current & Pending Support).

While we encourage the use of SciENcv, the NSF fillable PDF templates may be used if they are appropriate. Please review the SciENcv FAQs and fillable PDF FAQs to determine whether the use of SciENcv or the NSF fillable PDF templates is most appropriate.

Research.gov Proposal Preparation and Submission

Additionally, please note that NSF will begin making changes to specific funding opportunity announcements to require the use of Research.gov for proposal preparation and submission to NSF. The Biological Sciences Directorate (BIO) will soon require the use of Research.gov in this manner. Please ensure that you read funding opportunity announcements closely to determine the required submission method. More information is available in the Research.gov Implementation Update Notice.

Should you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact your URA Pre-Award Research Administrator, or Anna Jackson, Assistant Director, Sponsored Programs Pre-Award directly.
